Through funding obtained from Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments, corporations, foundations and the music-loving public, Roy Thomson Hall opened its doors in the fall of 1982. Situated in Toronto’s downtown entertainment core, Roy Thomson Hall is a vital artistic influence that has played host to world-renowned artists, orchestras, luminaries, galas, festivals, and important business and community events. With a number of spaces suitable for any size event, your creativity is the only thing holding you back. Auditorium, North and South Lobbies, Pickering Room, Green Room, Studio, North Court
A theatre capacity of over 2,600, the rental of the Auditorium includes the backstage rooms and lounges, as well as the North and South Lobbies. The Auditorium itself underwent a $20-million acoustic enhancement project in 2002, and remains the industry lead in all areas of audio visual performance.
The Lobbies are ideal spaces for a number of different events and function for both seated dinners and cocktail reception. Raised platform areas provide focal points for speakers, performers or product presentations.
The Pickering and Green Rooms are both more intimate spaces suitable for cocktails or small seated dinners. The rooms can be separate or opened into one large space.
The Studio works well for closed meetings and has clean, simple décor providing a blank canvas and allowing for a variety of set-ups.
The North Court Patio is an outdoor space amidst the excitement of downtown Toronto. With an upper and lower deck and a reflecting pool, this space has awnings that can be lowered in inclement weather and has a capacity for 225 guests for a seated dinner, 300 with a theatre set up and 400 for a cocktail reception.
